Length: 2 hours (Texas CEU)
Childhood sexual trauma leaves an imprint not only on the mind but also within the body, shaping physical health, emotional well-being, and the way survivors navigate intimacy and pleasure throughout their lives. When layered with generational wounds, including messages of shame, silence, and cultural conditioning, the path to healing can feel even more complex. This 2-hour training explores how trauma is stored in the body, how cultural and familial beliefs influence survivors’ relationships with sexuality, and how therapists can help clients move from survival to embodied healing. By understanding the deep-seated impact of trauma on arousal, desire, and trust, and by integrating trauma-informed strategies, we can support survivors in reclaiming pleasure, self-compassion, and confidence.
Learning objectives:
Discover how sexual trauma & generational wounds are stored in the body leading to chronic pain, tension, and dysregulation
Describe how culture, religious & familial beliefs shape survivors understanding of sexuality, consent, and healing
Distinguish the impact of trauma on arousal, desire, & trust in relationships.
Examine ways to integrate trauma informed strategies to reclaim pleasure, self-compassion, and confidence.
